First held in 2012, Manufacturing Day is celebrated on the first Friday of October every year around the country. This day gives manufacturers an opportunity to exhibit their potential in terms of modern manufacturing, while also energizing the pool of skilled workers of tomorrow. MFGDAY.com, the official website for the event, organized more than 2,600 open houses and events across all the 50 states in the U.S. as well as Puerto Rico in 2015, with more than 4,00,000 participants (including students, parents and community members) reaping the benefits of participating in these events.
This is also the day which sets the platform for manufacturers to address common misconceptions about the industry, coordinate with one another and determine most feasible alternatives for addressing challenges. Various types and sizes of manufacturers can use this platform to their benefit by interacting with other participating companies. MFGDAY.com has already entered into association with several sponsors and endorsers in 2016 to make this event a grand success. Till date, more than 2000 events are being planned to be hosted and more and more organizers are planning to celebrate this event in a grand scale across the country.

Why Do We Celebrate Manufacturing Day?
According to popular opinion, manufacturing is perceived to be an industry filled by workers with minimal education and with a lot of safety risks. Manufacturing Day is celebrated to shed light on these misconceptions regarding the industry and showcase the real scenario in modern manufacturing. It is also a day when manufacturers and professionals come together to address the challenges in the industry, attract new talent and inspire the next generation of manufacturing leaders. Students, their parents, educators, media personnel and local communities usually form up the desired audience for Manufacturing Day.
