The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA), the much awaited change in healthcare—which totally revamps Medicare (Part B) clinician payments from a fee-for-service to a value-based system is finally here. The MACRA goes into effect on 01/01/17 and changes the way Medicare will reimburse physician services. Prior to MACRA, CMS had been taking incremental steps toward value-based incentives under Medicare Part B; with MACRA, the incentive system will begin to have real teeth. Keeping this in mind, this infographic attempts to sum up MACRA in a discernible manner.
