Often, you will need to analyze samples of data and determine whether or not they support a given hypothesis. Hypothesis testing is a core data science skill, and relies on statistics to determine whether or not an observed value in a sample is likely to accurately represent the probable value in a total population.

This lesson introduces key concepts in hypothesis testing, including p-values and various types of tests that you can use to draw conclusions from your data.
